Research in Practice in the Alberta Health System: Where to from here?

The Task Force welcomes your input on any aspect of this report or the topic it addresses. Please feel free to provide reactions to the following questions or any additional input you wish to share:

  1. What is currently being done in your organization to use health research findings in decision making?


  2. What barriers in the system prevent the application of research knowledge in practice and policy settings?


  3. What factors in your own work environment limit the application of research knowledge?


  4. What mechanisms, tools or programs would support the use of research in practice?


  5. What organizations or institutions could lead in implementing the suggestions in #4?

The Task Force will consider all input and will recommend future steps with respect to increasing our provincial capacity to realize a return on research investment in research delivery and policy settings. A final report is expected by November 30, 1999.
