Community Health Research Training Program Accepting Applicants
As the Swift Efficient Application of Research in Community Health (SEARCH) program winds up its two-year mandate in May, AHFMR is preparing to launch SEARCH II. The initial program's 25 participants completed 83 research projects. This success has led to the development of an expanded, seven-module curriculum. New areas of instruction will include a module on aboriginal health and project management. For more information about SEARCH II, please call Sharon Kalinka, Special Projects Director, at (403) 423-5727.

Health Research Congress
AHFMR and the Banff School of Management are co-hosting the first Health Research Congress from May 13-15. This invitational conference will bring together health experts from all over North America with health professionals from Alberta. The Congress will be a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas on using research information for planning and policy development. Models of successful funding will also show participants how to build partnerships with other sectors to support research initiatives within the regions and throughout the province. Highlighted at the Congress will be a selected few of the 83 completed SEARCH projects. Please call Sharon Kalinka, Special Projects Director, at (403) 423-5727 for more information.
