The third annual competition closed in Fall 2017. Stay tuned for funding announcements to be made in late December.

The Studentships are offered by the Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit (AbSPORU) in partnership with Alberta Innovates. The Alberta SPOR Graduate Studentship provides a one year award of $30,000 towards a thesis-based masters or doctoral degree, for students whose project demonstrates a patient-oriented research approach.

Those who receive awards participate in the Patient-Oriented Research (POR) Training Program and additional AbSPORU activities throughout the year. They also present their work at the AbSPORU Summer Institute which furthers their theoretical and practical knowledge of patient-oriented research and have the opportunity to network with leading patient oriented research thought leaders.
