ACRC: The Alberta Clinical Research Roadmap
In 2012, the ACRC Executive Committee identified the need for a provincial clinical research roadmap that would provide a place for researchers to find step-by-step instructions on how to navigate a clinical health research study. This roadmap needed to include steps that would allow clinical researchers to follow best-practice and meet applicable regulations, regardless of where in Alberta the research occurred.
The roadmap aims to eliminate duplication, streamline processes and promote greater compliance resulting in increased patient safety, data integrity, and efficiency across the province.
Representatives from each of the ACRC partner organizations worked together to map each step in the set-up and conduct of clinical studies in Alberta.
The resulting high-level roadmap outlines the requirements for conducting a clinical research study, seeks to promote alignment, consistency, and education which will help guide researchers.
Use the Roadmap to navigate through the steps of a clinical health research study.
