| Initiation and Duration of Investigator
Awards |
AHFMR personnel awards are implemented according to the following timelines:
- Clinical Investigator and Population Health Investigator awards commence July 1 and end June 30; they are tenable for a maximum of 36 months.
- Scholar, Senior Scholar and Scientist awards commence July 1 and end June 30; they are tenable for a maximum of 60 months.
- AHFMR will consider requests to defer the initiation
of an award. However, please note that awards may be deferred for a maximum of one year.
- Candidates may apply for renewal of an existing award (if applicable) or for a more senior award at
any competition during the term of the current award. If the applicant is successful, the new award will commence the following July 1. Otherwise, the current award will continue to its normal
end date.
- AHFMR will consider requests for early release of Establishment Grant funds in order to assist in the rapid
implementation of new programs. However, this will neither change the total
value of the award, nor affect salary support.
