Alberta Cancer Grants Program     |     News

Alberta Innovates - Health Solutions will be working collaboratively with the Alberta Cancer Foundation to provide joint funding to support current commitments for career research activities.

The Alberta Cancer Grants Program provides opportunities for high-quality researchers who are actively involved in research that is directly related to the problem of cancer. Funds available in these competitions are to support either single or multiple investigators in one of the award categories below:

February 9, 2011

To all applicants of: Alberta Cancer Research Operating Grants; Alberta High Risk for High Returns Grants; Alberta Bridge Pilot and Limited Term Project Grants

Due to the high volume of applications received for these three competitions (Operating Grants: 69; High Risk: 22; Bridge/Pilot Grants: 38--more than twice as many as last year) we are seeking additional members for our peer review committees and have had to push the review process back from its original February dates to mid-April 2011.

We are expecting to make decisions based on the review committees' recommendations prior to the end of April. Pending available resources from the Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund, which is under the authority of Alberta Health, successful grants will be backdated to April 1, 2011.

We will keep you updated on the grant review process. Please email if you have any questions.
