Jul. 13, 2016

We are pleased to announce the results of the April 2016 Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions (AIHS) Training and Early Career Development (TECD) Programs competitions (Graduate Studentship and Clinician Researcher Training Stream).

Successful applications

The April 2016 competitions resulted in the approval of 20 Graduate Studentship, 2 MD-PhD Studentship and 7 Clinician Fellowship awards.

AIHS received a total of 302 submissions which included 237 Graduate Studentship and 65 Clinician Researcher (9 MD-PhD Studentship and 56 Clinician Fellowship) applications.

Expert Review

All applications were reviewed by interdisciplinary expert review committees as part of a two-stage process. Applications were funded based on their overall quality and merit in the assessment criteria areas and on available AIHS funds. Our priority is to honour our current, multi-year commitments while focusing on finding additional leveraged sources of funding to continue to support the development of future health research and innovation leaders in Alberta.

Official Notification

Formal result letters will be sent to all applicants in July 2016. The offer of award letters will include the terms and conditions of the award and the applicant’s assessment results along with any comments made by the review committee. The names of the successful applicants for the awards are listed below.

Our Congratulations

On behalf of Dr. Pamela Valentine, CEO (Interim) and Board of Directors, we thank all applicants for their substantial efforts and congratulate the recipients of these awards. AIHS also wishes to acknowledge the tremendous assistance provided by its review committee members.
