The Alberta Foundation for Health Research
Research is a major contributor to improving health and Albertans are fortunate to live in a province that has made health research a priority. Many people who have felt the impact of a certain disease or health condition in their family want to support ongoing research in health. In response to numerous inquiries about how to donate to AHFMR-supported health research, a separate foundation was created.
Building on the AHFMR investment
The Alberta Foundation for Health Research (AFHR), founded in 1994, is a non-profit, charitable organization that receives donations for health research projects. Only selected, top-quality health research projects are supported by AFHR, according to the standards of excellence set by the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research.
