Refresh in the mountains: recreational activities

The Monday afternoon recreational networking activities were a hit at Making Connections 2010! Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings with your colleagues, and make some new connections.

REGISTER EARLY! Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis on-site.

NOTE: Golf has a fee which must be paid upon registration at JPL.

OLD FORT POINT HIKE (1:30-4:30pm; 8-km loop; strenuous)

Limit: 12 people

Your expert naturalist/guide will highlight some lesser known features of the hike en route. Your reward – along with a sense of achievement - will be the fabulous panoramic vistas of Jasper Park Lodge and the Athabasca Valley from the summit of Old Fort Point.

ATHABASCA VALLEY CIRCUIT (1:30-4:30pm; 5-km loop; moderate)

Limit: 12 people

Stride through tranquil forest and along the shores of blue-green lakes. Your expert naturalist/guide leads you over gently rolling terrain so that the picturesque views are what take your breath away – not the physical exertion!

THE AMAZING RACE – Jasper Park Lodge Edition (1:30-4:30pm; 5-km loop; easy)

Stretch your legs and your mind on Making Connections' own Amazing Race. You and your randomly chosen team mates will unravel clues that lead to a series of locations around the Lodge property. At each stop you will unlock a little ‘mystery’. Finish first and win a prize.

WALKING TOUR OF JASPER PARK LODGE (3:30-5:00pm; easy)

Limit: 20 people/session

Go behind the scenes at Jasper Park Lodge with visits to the kitchens and historic cabins. Hear tales from the Lodge’s 90 year history and get a glimpse of spaces you would not otherwise see.
