André Picard, Reporter and Columnist

André Picard is a long-time health reporter and columnist at The Globe and Mail. He is currently serving as the CIBC Scholar-in-residence at the Conference Board of Canada, where he is writing a book on healthcare reform. At Making Connections, he will bring his critical perspective to the discussion of current issues in medical science and health policy and the importance of communicating scientific research smartly in the age of Twitter.

André has received wide acclaim for his writing, including the prestigious Hyman Solomon Award for Public Policy Journalism and the Michener Award for Meritorious Public Service Journalism. Last year, he received the first Distinguished Service to Cancer Research Award from the Cancer Research Alliance, and a lifetime achievement award from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
