Alan E. Winter
Alan Winter is President and CEO of Genome British Columbia. Genome BC is a not-for-profit research organization established in Vancouver to enable British Columbia to become a world leader in selected areas of genomics R&D and to develop a vibrant life sciences cluster in the province.
Alan Winter is also a Trustee of the Providence Health Care Research Institute, and Chair of the BC Foundation for Population and Public Health. He has had wide experience at senior levels in industry and in government, including such roles as the President and CEO of MPR Teltech, the largest technology company in Western Canada at that time.
Alan Winter is a member of the Expert Panel on Research Performance and Science Funding, Council of Canadian Academies, a Director of Alberta Innovates Technology Futures (AITF) and three technology companies in Canada. He was Deputy Chair of the Council of Science and Technology Advisors (CSTA) to the federal government, and a member of the BC Premier's Council on Science and Technology.
