Introduction to the Concepts and Tools of ARECCI (June 2009)
This PowerPoint presentation offers a brief introduction to the concepts and tools developed by ARECCI. It is intended to raise awareness about the application of ethical concepts to quality improvement and evaluation projects, and introduces ARECCI’s decision-support tools.
Ethics in Evaluation: The ARECCI approach to enhancing how ethical risk is managed in evaluation practice (May 2008)
This conference presentation was delivered in May 2008 to the Canadian Evaluation Society. It provides an overview of the increasing importance of evaluation projects in Alberta’s healthcare environment, and documents ARECCI’s work to incorporate ethical considerations into those projects.
Protecting People While Increasing Knowledge Recommendations (December 2005)
This document outlines the conceptual underpinnings of ARECCI's five key recommendations for a province-wide approach to ethics review of knowledge generating projects in health care.
ARECCI Ethics Decision-Support Tools for Projects (July 2008)
This document outlines two decision-support tools that have been created by ARECCI: they are the ARECCI Ethics Screening Tool and the ARECCI Ethics Guidelines for Quality Improvement and Evaluation Projects. These decision-support tools are a resource to assist integration of appropriate ethical considerations in projects to protect participants, whether the project is quality improvement, quality assurance, program evaluation, or research. Section I of the document provides an overview of the two guides and describes how they work together. Section II provides the complete ARECCI Ethics Guidelines for Quality Improvement and Evaluation Projects.
