Executive Sponsors Joint Communiqué
The Joint Communiqué on ethics harmonization from the Executive Sponsors of Alberta’s Health Research Ethics Boards (REBs) underscores their commitment to provincial alignment of the research ethics review system by the end of 2010. The executive sponsors group comprises representatives of the government of Alberta and all institutions that sponsor a REB designated under the Health Information Act of Alberta as able to provide health research ethics approval.
The Joint Communiqué includes a link to a key reference document being used in this ongoing work – A Strategy for Moving Forward Alberta’s Health Research Ethics Boards – Final Report March 2010. This plan was developed by the Council of Chairs of Alberta’s Health REBs in consultation with key stakeholders.
