Heritage Youth Researcher Summer Program
2010 Competition Results
The response to the 11th offering of the Heritage Youth Researcher Summer (HYRS) Program was excellent with 176 applications from 73 schools throughout the province. We are especially grateful to all teachers who were references for the students. We truly appreciate your efforts and look forward to meeting you at the HYRS Finale or the Teachers' Workshops later on in the summer. On May 17 the HYRS adjudication committee members - comprised of 4 teachers, from St. Albert, Lethbridge, Calgary, and Edmonton, and one researcher from the University of Calgary - met to select the 45 applicants for HYRS 2010. Twenty HYRS positions are at the University of Alberta, 20 are at the University of Calgary, and five students are at the University of Lethbridge.
